CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN 2017

Many of you will have enjoyed the high quality music making that LIMF promotes during the annual Festival, the summer celebrity recitals and the Lunchtime Concert series in partnership with the New Walk Museum and led by our Artistic Director, Nicolas Daniel. We have just launched a Crowdfunding Campaign, designed to attract donations of any size in return for a variety of rewards and benefits, such as attending rehearsals, having tea with one of the musicians, sponsoring a piece of music or even supporting a whole concert. Further details can be found here. Do please take a look!

The Leicester International Music Festival (LIMF) provides chamber music of international standard in Leicester each September.  It is the highlight of an annual calendar which includes very popular regular lunchtime concerts in the winter and spring, and occasional evening recitals. However September is particularly special: an ensemble gather together to produce music over several days and a unified theme. Concerts take place at New Walk Museum so that art is produced amidst more art.

Artistic Director Nicholas Daniel introduces the 2017 festival:

‘I am delighted to announce that the programme for 2017 will celebrate the music of J S Bach and Robert Schumann.  In addition to hearing some of these composers’ most brilliant works for keyboard and small ensemble, there will also be arrangements of Bach by Max Reger for piano four hands, pieces by Clara Schumann, the Brahms Horn Trio and Romancendres by Heinz Holliger, which was inspired by Schumann.’

Performing these works is a team of some of the most stunningly brilliant musicians I know, coming together in Leicester for a whole week in order to concentrate on music at its best for an audience they love.In order to make the festival sustainable and keep ticket prices affordable for as many people as possible, we need your help. This presents you with an opportunity not just to support an excellent local musical endeavour, but also to build a relationship with an established festival and wonderful artists.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

I do hope very much that you will feel able to support us, so that we can welcome friends old and new.
