LIMF 2020 Crowdfunder appeal

The world’s finest musicians in a magnificent setting: we look forward to a time when you will be able to join us again in the Victorian Gallery at the New Walk Museum, Leicester. In the meanwhile, we have been working hard to find ways of sharing music with you.

With Leicester still in lockdown, we are clearly not able to bring music to a live audience in the New Walk Museum, but we have been working hard to plan an alternative. We are simply not willing to hide in a corner and we are committed to supporting – and paying – our musicians, who have suddenly lost their livelihood.

We will record six short concerts, without an audience, in the Museum, to be broadcast online at the time our festival should be taking place. The concerts will feature some of the country’s finest chamber musicians, most of whom were already booked for the physical festival.
