Beethoven: Rondino in E flat, WoO 25
Berio: Sequenza VII for oboe
Dvo?ák: Serenade in D minor, Op.44
Mozart: Serenade for 13 winds in B flat, K.361

The members of the Haffner Wind Ensemble are well known as chamber musicians, individual soloists, and principals in the Britten Sinfonia. Here they offer a widely ranging programme, from the lone oboe of Berio's ‘Sequenza VII’, written for the Swiss player Heinz Holliger, to the most richly scored of all Mozart's wind serenades. Dvo?ák's Op.44 Serenade is in the same tradition as the Mozart, but tinged with the nationalistic mood of the Slavonic Dances he began to write shortly afterwards.
