A selection of Nicholas Daniel’s forthcoming concerts
Nicholas Daniel continues to showcase the oboe in a number of concerts including a portrait concert of work by John Casken (Thu 31 Oct) with the Fidelio Trio in association with the University of Aberdeen, and a ‘European’ performance of sound patron Sir James MacMillan’s Intercession for 3 Oboes with Dutch oboist Oliver Boekhoorn and French oboist Jean-Pierre Arnaud (Sat 2 Nov). Three new works by three very different composers featuring Nicholas Daniel’s virtuosic oboe-playing, Red Note’s “wit and bright spirit” and a star appearance by local new music ensemble in a piece specially composed by Linda Buckley for the joint forces of both ensembles.
