Lohja City Orchestra

Top oboist Nicholas Daniel will visit Lohja again as conductor of the entire concert. This time, Daniel brings with him the Concertante in Moto perpetuo by the British composer Simon Bainbridge, with its minimalist influences. The concert also includes Benjamin Britten’s Sinfonietta, which the composer dedicated to his own composition teacher.
Siegfried-Idyll, that most beloved orchestral work of Richard Wagner, known for his operas, is a symphonic poem for chamber orchestra. The piece was Wagner’s birthday present to his wife Cosima and is named after their son.
Pastorale d’été (Summer Pastoral) by Arthur Honegger, a French-Swiss composer, was inspired by the dazzlingly beautiful scenery of the Swiss Alps.
