Orsino Ensemble at Wigmore Hall

5 June 2023 at 13:00

The flexible wind ensemble made up of leading players gave its debut performance at the Aldeburgh Festival in 2018. Janácek’s nostalgic celebration of youth is set against Britten’s little-known movement of 1930, and the most famous of the wind quintets of the highly original, Czech-born Anton Reicha (1770-1836), published in 1818.

Benjamin Britten (1913-1976): Movement for wind sextet
Anton Reicha (1770-1836): Wind Quintet in E flat Op. 88 No. 2
Leoš Janácek (1854-1928): Mládí
