Two extraordinary musicians, Nicholas Daniel and Huw Watkins, join us for an evening featuring music for oboe and piano by Bach, Harrison Birtwistle, Tansy Davies, Schumann, and John Woolrich. 

Top oboist Nicholas Daniel will visit Lohja again as conductor of the entire concert. This time, Daniel brings with him the Concertante in Moto perpetuo by the British composer Simon Bainbridge, with its minimalist influences. With Beethoven’s iconic 9 Symphony, Orion Orchestra and Nicholas Daniel will be marking the 200 years since its premiere and also celebrating the Symphony’s connection to Marylebone and that the Royal Philharmonic Society funded the first performance in Vienna, which happened while they were based close to Manchester Square Gardens.
